Halloween

A few pics from Halloween. Johnny and Adrian are elves or hobbits or something from Lord of the Rings or WoW. Zelda was a 50's diner waitress. The bottom pic is them with a group of friends.

I was in D.C. for work - Naomi wasn't too happy with that.

John Jr. - Soccer pics

A few pics of Johnny playing for his new soccer club.

The first two remind me of a comment a parent from his old club - the Riggers - made about John. He was double rostered to a younger (his own age group) team there too, and didn't know those players very well, and so, as usual didn't say much. The parent said: "John is like a Clint Eastwood character. He comes to the field, puts his bag down, plays focused and intense, scores goals, and wins games. When its over he picks up his bag and leaves. No smiles, no words - it's all business."

He can certainly seem like that sometimes. His play is very focused - you can see his brows furrowed most of the time - and he is pretty quiet. His coaches and I always say more communicating on the field will make him a better player and help his team. Anyway, I have a blast watching him play, and am very proud of him.
He played his old team -the Riggers - last week (above). He enjoyed seeing some of his friends he hasn't seen in a while.
John is usually one of the smallest on the field. Especially when he plays with his older team. He doesn't get intimidated easily, though.
Moving up-field.

Labor Day

A few pics from yesterday. Our friends asked us to join them at their north shore beach house for the afternoon. We don't get to the beach nearly enough.

Lunar Eclipse

It was mostly cloudy with rain here last night, but I did manage a few glipses of the eclipse. Saw it go to totality, and then a few peeks from behind clouds when total.

This is my best photo, but its not too good. Had a tripod, but still a bit of shake. Didn't think to use the timer until I was already back in bed. Next time =-)

Recent Kid Photos

Tryin' to post more often. Zelda's "tuesday Weld" look and John & Adri eating McDs

Johnny Soccer Highlites No. 1

I upgraded to iLife '08, which is much more compatible with my Hard Drive Sony camcorder, so I'm back to editing some videos. These are from his Fall '06 season with the Riggers. I was coaching at the time, so hardley took any video. Adrian shot some. She's getting better.

Johnny switched soccer clubs this summer, he's now on Powder Edge. I don't think they're much better, but a lot of his friends from school are on the team, so he's having a lot of fun. He's double rostered (playing on 11 & 12 year old teams) and he plays two, sometimes three games every Sunday starting Sept. 2. I'm not coaching either, so . . . Much more video is on the way . . . I hope.

See the Resemblence?

Old pictures of grandpa Bob and me while we were babies (34 years apart). There are a few similarities there, don't you think?

The whole Cole family

Haven't taken a picture of the whole family for a while. I look way too old. This was taken a couple of weeks ago on Naomi's 29th (ahem) birthday.

Just trying Flickr - post to blog feature

This is too funny. Tight jeans, yellow coat, white figure skates! I make one mean hockey player. Must have been around 1978-80 ??

Birthdays

Adrian turned 13 on May 2. She is SO teenager! She has acted like one for years now with all the eye rolling, "ch"s, etc.

TokiDoki - her favorite. She's funny because she doesn't want to use a lot of the things (clothes, bags, etc.) she gets. She wants to "save" them for later

I wonder what she's wishing for . . . World peace? LOL! Probably just wishing for more "stuff", or that we won't make her drink her milk.

Johnny turned 11 on May 4. He got a short haircut shortly after this, so he looks more like 8 or 9. That's a card his sister made for him. Yes - I mean Zelda.

Johnny's buddy Chad's birthday is also on May 4 so we celebrated together after a fun round of miniature golf.

Here we Go!

My first post in this new photo blog to share with family and friends.

Adrian was promoted to first chair violin (concertmaster) of her school's Orchestra IV, and this was her concert a couple of weeks ago. We were in the balcony (that's my excuse for the blurry pic).

Here's Johnny trying to help Zelda with her violin - he's such a good boy. On weekends I often bring the kids to my office so they can practice in seperate rooms (our house is so small), and I can try to get some work done.
